The EPICentre is hosting, the Entrepreneurship SpeakHER Series, funded by the US Consulate General office in Toronto.

The series aims to empower post-secondary students, especially women and women-identifying students, to consider entrepreneurship a potential career path regardless of their fields of study.

Participants will have free access to eight virtual webinars featuring American and Canadian women entrepreneurs from various sectors: podcasting, international products, plastic reprocessing, ergonomics support, small businesses, entrepreneurship in minority communities and distressed areas. Additionally, participants will have full access to the Entrepreneurship NetworkHER Event. This is a unique opportunity for UWindsor and St. Clair College students to network in two virtual sessions with other scholars and women founders in the United States and Canada from the previous webinars.

“The US Consulate was pleased to sponsor this event. It was great to meet with these aspiring entrepreneurs and share experiences and information,” said Diane Del Rosario, Public Affairs Officer at the US Consulate in Toronto. “By forging these cross-border connections, we strengthen our ability to build back better.”

The EPICentre had three representatives from the US Consulate General office at the first networking event, enjoyed the collaboration of the Portland State University Center for Entrepreneurship, and the participation of UWindsor students.

“Thank you to the EPICentre for hosting such a great event. I met some inspiring women and made amazing connections,” said Arundhati Kandan Ramdas, Graduate Student at the University of Windsor.

“After this event, I am thinking of working on a business idea and working with the EPICentre team for support. I am honored to have gotten the chance to meet female founders from both Canada and the US,” said Mahsa Jalali, Ph.D. Researcher Assistant at the University of Windsor.

The Entrepreneurship SpeakHER series will resume for the Fall 2022 semester!  For more information you can view: EPICentre website.
