UWindsor food pantry receives generous donation from local union

The University of Windsor’s food pantry has received a donation of $15,000 from CUPE Local 4580.  The food pantry is a service provided by the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance and aims to ‘take a bite' out of food security concerns with food aid assistance. Canned goods, breakfast items, snacks, and personal hygiene items are available to all students at the University.  Madison West, coordinator of the food pantry, said that it “is our firm belief that no student should have to choose between textbooks, tuition, and food.”  CUPE Local 4580 is a labour union representing graduate and teaching assistants

UWSA general elections now in full swing

UWindsor students head to the polls to elect their Undergraduate Student Alliance.  The general elections for the UWSA (the University of Windsor Student Alliance) representing all full-time undergraduate students including the Schulich School of Medicine, the Faculty of Law, and Teachers College- are now underway. We’ve Returned to Campus- but how do UWindsor Students Really Feel?

University of Windsor students started to return to campus this term.   This move came following nearly two years of virtual learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ambassador Bridge is now open following protests

The Ambassador Bridge is open after a week of protests. The Blockade ‘Dumb and Silent, we are led to slaughter like sheep.’ That’s what one sign read at a protest blocking Huron Church Road in Windsor. For 7-days, protesters blocked the largest international border crossing in North America, the corridor responsible for ¼ of all Canada-US cross-border trade.  Huron Church Road and other roads leading to the Ambassador Bridge were partially or fully obstructed by protestors.
