The new Toldo Lancer Centre (TLC) at the University of Windsor aims to enhance the student experience and promote campus spirit. Starting this semester, the Lancer Recreation centre has introduced various programs for students including dance, sports, and yoga. Nicole Daignault, a.k.a. Coco is one of the yoga instructors at the Lancer recreation centre. Coco graduated from the University of Windsor with a Psychology honours with thesis degree in 1997. The University of Windsor begins utilizing Brightspace, the new learning management system, to navigate academic-related tasks. Brightspace gives you access to the course materials and tools to communicate with your instructors, turn in assignments, and check your grades. It is easy to find and complete tasks using the learning management system. The University of Windsor is reminding students that ‘strict compliance to mask policy is required.’ In an email recently sent out to the UWindsor community, the university is encouraging mask wearing indoors, even if proper physical distancing is being maintained. The message comes following a provincial rise in COVID-19, the flu, and RSV. Healthcare systems have been overwhelmed by this triple threat, and hospitals throughout the province are past full capacity. The Womxn’s Centre is a University of Windsor Student Alliance (UWSA) service, providing a safe space and welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds and expressions. It has many resources for various programs and centers around Windsor that focus specifically on gender-based issues and support for women at all stages of life. Windsor Symphony Orchestra hosts World Premier

The concert is titled ‘World connections through Music’ and features the work of two noted performers. The first is the work by Iranian-British composer Farhad Poupel, titled ‘The Legend of Bijan and Manijeh’, drawn from a 10th century Persian epic poem titled Shahnameh. This weekend’s performance is its world premier. According to the WSO website, Farhad Poupel describes the structure as ‘the battle between dark and light’’

I spoke with Kieran McKenzie, a graduate of the University of Windsor, a former journalist for The Lance, and a city councillor representing Ward 9 in Windsor, Ontario. We discussed how he began his career in politics, how you can do the same, and why it is important for young people to get involved in the community. UWSA Annual General Meeting Adjourned Early Following Contentious Discussion About Proposed By-Law and Policy Amendments and Former President’s Removal
The AGM, scheduled for Monday, April 25 from 5 to 8 p.m., abruptly ended at 7:28 p.m. after a majority of members voted in favor of a motion put forward to adjourn the meeting before all the topics on the agenda had been discussed. Of the 75 members present, 15 voted in favor of the motion, 8 voted against it, and 1 abstained from voting. Students vocalized concerns regarding proposed By-Law and Policy amendments and asked questions about the former president’s removal.
